Raindrops with Sunshine

In case you forgot - Daylight Saving Time began at 2am this morning!  Check those clocks!  Spring ahead!

The weather in our area has been downright nuts - lately.  It’s like - Mother Nature can’t make up her mind.  Or - maybe she’s just now waking up and trying to make up her mind.  Or - maybe she’s been awake - around the clock - drinking Colorado Bullfrogs - while trying to make up her mind.  Oooooh - I really could have gone for a few of those on Friday night!

Or - maybe God’s having a little fun with shaking up his little Water Globe.  ( That - I have no doubt ! )  Either way - I wish things would calm down enough to allow the sun to warm us up and welcome a beautiful spring!

Yesterday was a day that you almost had to sit still and keep your eyes looking out the windows.  If you didn’t - you missed something!

I love to wake up and find a really thick fog present before the silhouettes of objects can even be seen.  I get to enjoy such a wild show until the sun has risen to light up the entire viewing area around our place!

The funny part of these photos is - when you think you’re not able to see something - you actually are seeing something!  A cloud of fog - resting.  Or - is it fighting to stay a little longer?

We had wild rain showers - with crazy blowing downpours - wind - even hail - throughout the day.  And then - around 6:30pm - I stepped out onto the back porch and found - this!

This rainbow was so huge and so close that we couldn’t see the full half-moon shape.  But what we could see was so bright - loaded with color - and so vivid.  I don't think I've seen a rainbow with this much depth in color ever before!

I had to take shots from the back porch and the front porch.  That’s how big it was.  A Double Rainbow even tried to form.  And it stayed - forever!

I was reading Tonia’s posting yesterday and she did something that has made me decide to start setting myself up for getting into so much trouble.  " Yeah - Tonia.  It's your fault ! "  She’s got new babies!  Yeah - new chicks!

She shared photos of those cute little peepers!  And that just woke up “ a little bit o’ Giddy “ in me!  Right now - we’re waiting on the rain to let up and give us a few good days during Hubby’s days off - so he can build our Chicken Coop and Run.

I can’t wait until we get to enjoy those babies - and wring our hands while waiting for that first egg!

But I couldn’t help noticing something in Tonia’s photos that gave me an idea.  The supplies.  That’s something I can be doing right now!  Makes no sense to wait until the last minute.  " Thanks for reminding me, Tonia ! "

This photo was taken on March 4, 2010 - only ten days ago.  And I had a heartbreak moment last night.  I was down on the living room rug playing with the pups.  I got the two of them joining in for a game of Tug O’ War - ( just like they were doing in this photo ) - with one of their other toys - when I realized something new.  Carlie has overtaken Zucker in strength.

I’m learning that it’s becoming really hard to tell how fast - and how much - a Basset Hound puppy is growing when you live with one on a daily basis.  It really pays to take photos on a daily basis.

I can - no longer - stand up and hold Carlie.  By the time I get her picked up - her entire front quarters and head are hanging over my shoulder - out of sight.  I now have to sit down with her in my recliner to enjoy some puppy love!

And she hasn't come close to finishing up with her full growth - yet.  Without a doubt - my girl's gonna be a monster!

And Spinner says - “ I don’t care how big she gets.  The couch is MINE . "
