Just a Manic Monday

Yesterday was a trip to Turkey Creek.  Hubby needed a monitor for the other computer.  He’s installing an auto cad program on that one.  It’s a huge program.  Besides - this will enable both of us to have access to a computer at the same time.

I remembered to take my camera!  This is my favorite place to buy wine.  I like their “ Tennessee Red “ so much!  Very pleasant.  Full of anti-oxidants!

In case you haven’t been told - or figured it out - WalMart is now playing another nasty game.  The prices for their items at their stores are higher than the prices they list at their website.

WalMart has decided to go that route to handle their overhead expenses for shipping and stocking merchandise in their stores.  So - if you can wait a few days - and you must buy from WalMart - buy it online from their website - whatever it may be.

But do your window shopping at other websites - to compare prices and quality - first.

They lose us as a customer by doing this.  We drove to Turkey Creek ( passing up the WalMart in Lenoir City ) and bought an 18.5” monitor for $109.00 +tax at Target.  The price was the same in their store as it was on their website.  “ Too bad, WalMart! “

The photo serves no justice.  It’s huge.  It makes tractor-trailer rigs with 53’ containers look like a little boy’s Matchbox car!  I can never keep myself from smiling every time my eyes land on it when we come close enough!

I always make phone calls and get associates to - literally - go check with their eyes - to see if they have products in stock at their store.  I don’t care what their computers say they have in inventory.  Too many times - we’ve made the long drive and the items were nowhere to be found.

Yet - one other interesting factoid I noticed yesterday.  WalMart tends to sell a different model ( same brand but - different model that‘s not even listed on their website ) of a product at their stores - versus what they sell on their website.  Apparently - that tactic offers them a loophole with legalities to substantiate manipulation with their prices.  I’ve already lost all respect for the spawn of Sam Walton.  More and more - I’m moving toward feeling a sense of disgust more concentrated than the most potent Tequila.

This is the monitor we bought.  It does a wonderful job - even without having paid almost $35.00 more to get it from WalMart.  LOL

Hobby Lobby opened a new location - right next door to Target - in Turkey Creek - on March 15th!  Since we were already there in the area - we headed over to take a look and see if I could find a few things I’m hunting for.

Daughter - Britni called while we were inside.  Friend - Charlotte - texted a message to me while I was struggling to speak with Brit.  Chaos and mayhem were so prevalent that I had to ask if I could call her later.  After not finding anything I have been looking for - we headed over to Red Robin for lunch.  Made ourselves completely miserable - with smiles on our faces - before heading home.

Charlotte and Austin!

Friend - Charlotte - had texted to let us know that her only yard varmint - Austin - was in recovery after having had his tonsils removed.  My first thought was, “ Looks like she managed to get him there without half-killin’ him - first ! “

Last she’d mentioned - she had told Austin the surgery was coming up on a Monday.  But she felt like he wasn’t quite sure about which Monday.  And he was already beginning to show signs of apprehension last week.  So - she had almost decided not to say another word - and just wait - until they were in the car and headed to Blount Memorial Hospital.  ROTFL !!!

I hope she made a different choice.  Otherwise - she’s bound to have a whole lotta fun trying to get that kid in the car - for a while - even for plans of taking him to Thunder World!

Come yesterday evening - I managed to call Brit back - as promised.  She had me all excited!  If Hell doesn’t wake up and eat this planet before then - she and Kevin want to drive up with the baby and come visit next year!  By then - Brit will have already been out of school and - God willing - be working long enough to have vacation time!

By the time we headed to bed last night - it finally donned on me.  The scene at Hobby Lobby was so insane because - yesterday was March 15th.

Duuuhhhhh !

One last thing before I go - a funny prank - pulled on Darius Rucker - just a couple weeks ago!

I hate walmart anymore too, unfortunately we can't afford to not shop there at all...they do have some things that are cheaper, and we shop at sams for the same reason. I'd avoid them totally if I could though, dang them anyway. I think Sam would roll over in his grave at what it has become.

I have noticed for the last year or two that they don't even have everything I need though...they have really gone downhill, thats for sure.
