Speaking of Last Tuesday...

The location of our place gives us quite a view.  Nice - when you need a warning - about Mother Nature's Ambush coming at ya'.

The sun was behind me - thunder and lightning in front of me.  All I wanted to accomplish was getting some work done in my garden.  Is that really asking too much - time for taking care of a priority?

I'm not the only one with that same question on their mind around this region.  Everybody's battling the wench and having trouble getting that first cut of hay this year.

At the rate things are going - I'm afraid ours may lay down if we don't get it cut this next coming week.

Took a few minutes - but - here she came.  And it was all surreal.  One direction throwing down buckets - the other direction throwing down sunshine like it's nobody's business!

And things just went from bad...

To worse.

Had a creek full running down the driveway in less than five minutes.

Had a puddle trying to create a creek from the middle of the front of our house, as well.

And then we watched it make its way across - from right to left - towards the Smoky Mountains.

Birds would have suffered trauma to their brains if they'd tried sitting here to wait it out.

Of course - some might remind us we all should consider the source - the size of a bird brain.

I'm just glad all the rain flew through here within a half-hour and let the sun have its place back!

We made a fast trip from Virginia to Georgia last weekend and Friday found us caught in Memorial Day traffic, headed south on I-40 in Loudon County right in the middle of a terrible storm. The folks on the interstate were stopping in the middle of the road as the hail beat our wind shield. We had no choice but to just keep driving as there was no place to get off and to get off was probably as dangerous as to keep moving! I feel for you all with all the storms you have been having! I did think of you and wave as we headed through Knoxville both coming and going! ;-)
