They Promised a Heat Wave!

It was a Martha Stewart Day for me - today.  I mean - literally.  This is the time of year when even I must admit - she puts on the very best segments with the greatest quality of education and information pertaining to food and gardening.

And I got a real treat today!  Dr. Jana Klauer, M.D. was the guest on her show.  You can follow her on FaceBook.  And you can even catch up with her - on YouTube.com!

Discussion included promoting her book “ The Park Avenue Nutritionist’s Plan “ - which I found to include some really great help - that we can all - and I mean we all can - actually - literally - afford to follow.  I mean it!  The price tags don’t discriminate and restrict only to those with incomes palatable for living on Park Avenue in NYC !

Now - there's something I just cannot comprehend.   Just humor me - after you read this post - by opening another window or tab - and taking this little journey - if you will. ( Directions below )

Now - Why would anyone blow all their money to live there?  To me - it would be like - living at an office - or at a BART station!

Here is a portion of the segment for Martha's show for today - put into article form to print out ( click on " File " at the left top corner of the toolbar on your browswer - choose " Print " ) at her website.  By far - I found the information well worth the effort and expense of printer ink - paper - even the electricity - spent on printing out my own copy for keeping!

When it comes to foodborne illness, organic isn't immune, as the 2006 outbreak of E. coli in organic bagged spinach proved. Contamination is all about who or what touches the produce along the way. Distribution of mass-produced foods will spread a tainted batch far and wide, while small farms have a narrower reach. Organic food can't be irradiated, a controversial technique approved to kill pathogens in some foods, or genetically modified, a practice whose long-term safety is unknown.

This should be a true Heads-Up that leaves no reason for anyone to not stop and take notice.  For Martha Stewart to find reason in believing this is something to take seriously for our health - trust me.  One cannot deny there is a lot of meat inside the buns of truths behind all that is happening in the production and marketing of  the food we’re all bringing to our tables - and feeding our children.

Hey - it’s reached 25* here at our house - this very moment!  And we’re being promised a heat wave today!

Oh - yeah - Baby!  A whole - whopping - 42* !!!

I can’t wait!

I’ll be able to go outside - without wearing my thermal undies!

Of course - with the days being so short - and the warmest temps reaching around 3pm on average…

I may only get about an hour of fun there.

To which my thought goes wandering into the archives - to stumble upon - this !

I STILL think about my Aunt Sue every time I hear this!

And Page, Arizona!  ( Inside scoop )

And - I STILL bust up laughing!
