One of Those .1 Percent Days - My Favorite!

( The salt 'n pepper shakers are baby Mason Jars ! )

When it comes to leaving my house to go anywhere - 99.9 percent of the time - I am heading off to take care of some errand - groceries - paying bills - gas for my Putt-Putt - things like that.  Yesterday was one of those .1 percent days for me.  Very rare treat for me.

 ( Finally - I found one like my Grandma P. had ! )

Turkey Creek was supposed to be my destination.  Never made it.  I’m a woman.  I changed my mind.

( I gotta weed this thing out !  But I had a drawer I need for something else - soooo ! )

My day became a day of shopping.  But this was a day that was all about - fun shopping.  No items on a grocery list - no puppy supplies - not even clothing or shoes - not even gas for my Putt-Putt.  ( The tank was still full from the fill-up I took care of a couple weeks ago. )

( I LOVE the plain ivory Fire King ! )

I went finding more trinkets for my kitchen!  I have two criteria.  They go with my rustic - country - cabin theme.  Or - they remind me of my Grandma Paparelli - my Mother - and/or my Aunt Judy!

( This is old - old - old.  The glass has all those bubbles and waves running through it. )

I made it back home just short of 5pm - no time for supper.  It had to be “ Friday Night Left-overs “ for us!  Yeah - we end up with Mondays becoming Fridays in this household. By the time Hubby made it home and I began showing him all the treasures I’d found - I realized I was missing a bag.

( " Made in W. Germany " - a nutmeg grinder ! )

" Hey, Home Depot!  Thank you for putting the name of your cashiers on your register receipts!  And the phone number for the unit ! "  ( Cuz’ I was too pissed at myself to think ! )  Sure enough - I called Matt.  He carried my bag of Address numbers and Freesia bulbs up to Customer Service for me to pick up this morning!

( I finally found one!  Yayyyyy!  Now I can frost the top of a cake in one slather ! )

I’m late for today’s list of things to accomplish - already.  I have a route with stops - just like the Budweiser truck.  Okay - the Coca-Cola truck.  Anyway - Hubby gets to sleep in - or - go out and start on something without me - while I go make my rounds all the way to Turkey Creek and back!

I know he’s got it in his head that I won’t be back until this evening.  “ Wrong, Mr. Smarty Pants!  I’ll show YOU ! “

Besides - I’ve got veggie plants sittin’ on the patio table.  They’re not gonna bother puttin’ roots into that thing!

I just love to buy antique, glass and other "outdated" kitchen gadgets at the antique stores! I'm glad you had such a good day!

I'm glad you had fun shopping, I always hate going shopping, but then we almost never go for fun, cause of money being spent on everything else, instead of saving some to browse with.

I do want to try to get some money saved, to go to some antique shops, cause I want to look for a couple of the old round butter dishes. I have one, but don't use it usually, cause I don't want to break it since it was my Grandmothers, but one I find in the store I would chance getting broke. We used to roam antique shops a lot, when we traveled with our business, but stopped doing that when money got tight. It sure was fun though. :)
