Foster Parenting is Looking Better and Better

Hope everyone had fun on New Year’s Eve.  Dwayne worked - of course.  I was at home with the dog and cat.

We’re having to watch The Weather Channel this morning - just to find reason to appreciate the fact that it’s only 28* outside right now.  Our hearts go out to all the folks up around South Dakota this morning.  It takes a special mindset to choose living up there.  That’s for sure!

Things have been relatively quiet here.  Of course - that’s about the way things run while Dwayne’s working graveyard shift.  They’ve screwed up his shift - again - as well.  And I’m just not so sure what he’s gonna do about it.  They have him going back to graveyard shift smack in the middle of the year - while I’m in the heat of harvesting - canning - and freezing.

As if I didn’t have enough on my plate.  Just another reason to get stuck out here in the boonies with no human contact - unable to go anywhere.  How do I get all the canning done when I’m supposed to start supper at 2pm and get him off to work by 4:30pm?

No help and days off mean nothing.  Days off are spent working around here.

But the situation has managed to develop necessity on its own for my requirement to spend - at least some time - with other human contact.  Lucky me.

My first appointment with a therapist is scheduled for January 25th.  Yep - had to work around his days off and all that other stuff.

Bout par.

I could seriously consider becoming a foster parent in this house - just to have some human contact.

I'll bet I'd be appreciated by those kids.
