Dance, Chicky!

My poor mother.  Had a message from her this morning - waiting at my farm in the FarmTown game I play at Facebook.  She asked me where I was - and if I was mad at her.

Heck no - I'm not mad at her!

Our schedule has changed here.  My bedtime is now 8:30pm.  I wake up at 4 am - now.  I thought I only needed to worry about how I was going to adjust - once I’m dealing with chickens and livestock.  Now I’m worrying about how my mother will deal with it.  And she lives in Texas!

When it comes to the Day Shift schedule - I just cannot spend that much time on the computer.  I have to grab all the opportunity I can - and take care of as much as I can - while I can!  Because it’s all gonna slam into reverse again - come June!  And that’s when things really will become interesting.

That’s when the schedules around here will come to feel the same as they did when I was working for Continental ExpressJet.  Back then - the two of us got one whole day off at the same time - every 3 weeks.  We had to pencil in those days for nothing else but doing something special together.

Life in a home is not easy when one person is working a day shift - and the other is working a night shift.  It only gets worse when one of them has the same days off each week - while the other has their days off rolling over - never landing on the same days each week.

The only hope in our situation is - the fact that I’m not working outside the home.  I’m able to flex my schedule to suit my husband’s work schedule - as much as possible.  Either way - the situation takes us completely out of the loop of normal life as it is for society in general.

Once the animals arrive - there will be no days off for the two of us - such as they are considered by general society, anyway.  Days Off for the two of us will consist of the days when Dwayne’s not working at his outside job and we’re both dealing with animals - and all the other projects in line here at this house.

And yes - our vacation time will even be needed for dealing with things that must be taken care of here at this house.

See - we don’t have any family here.  We don’t have a mess of children here getting their hands dirty in any of this.

Bottom line -  it’s just him - and me.  And you don’t make such a financial investment in a home and 10 acres - then expect it to take care of itself.

It’s like - being pregnant.

When the animals get here - I am gonna be one busy woman!  There will be raising and training.

Just like - THIS !

Trust me.... Keep watching!
